Autores ResumoThis thesis is an article that reveals the aspect and characteristics of the retelling of the Hongdo narrative serialized in newspapers and magazines in the 1930s. The Hongdo narrative is a classic narrative rooted in Hongdo (1621). This paper examines how writers in the 1930s retelling the Hongdo narrative through modern mass media. The works studied in this thesis are Lee Bo-sang's 'Chun-Do-Gi-Wu'(1932-3), Shin Jeong-eon's 'Tears of love on the boat of a southern barbarian'(1935), Yun Baek-nam's 'Mi-Su'(1935), Shin Young-cheol's 'Kuk-Je-Gi-Yeon'(1936). In this paper, style and genre, narrative composition (character, event, background), theme and historical consciousness were identified for each work. Through this, it was revealed how the original narrative was varied while unfolding a diverse spectrum for each work. Based on this, the characteristics of Hongdo narrative retelling in the 1930s were summarized as genre negotiations and diversification of narrative composition, strengthening popularity and entertainment for commercialization, and limitations in historical consciousness.
