
CIÊNCIA NA PÓS-GRADUAÇÃO: análise das disciplinas de metodologia de pesquisa e estatística

ResumoWe analyzed the contents of research methodology and statistics courses to initiate discussions about scientific education in graduate courses.In the interdisciplinary area, we selected 78 disciplines related to research methodology and 38 related to statistics, belonging to 25 graduate courses.Research methodology was mandatory in approximately 86% of the courses, while statistics was mandatory in only 28%.According to the content analysis, the most frequent terms in research methodology were method, qualitative, project, ethics, design, and writing.For statistics, the most frequent terms were sample, descriptive, ANOVA, and mean.These results suggest that research methodology is approached from a procedural perspective, with little theoretical depth.Still, statistics is not a mandatory subject in most courses and its content is insufficient considering the demands of today.
