This article maintains that Caribbean Speculative or Futurist literature plays a crucial role in proposing alternative futures to neoliberal patriarchal humanism. Focusing on Caribbean speculative poetry written by women, this paper argues that Thaís Espaillat, Yaissa Jiménez, Ann-Margaret Lim, Canisia Lubrin and Jennifer Rahim’s lines are privileged spaces from which to analyse contemporary coloniality as well as to imagine alternative futures for the region. The poetry of these five contemporary Caribbean women poets from the English and Spanish-speaking Caribbean not only unmasks the coloniality of power and gender, but it also points towards forms of resistance and resilience grounded in the knowledges and practices of the region as essential for the collective reconstruction of decolonial and feminist futures. Resumen Este artículo sostiene que la literatura especulativa caribeña o el futurismo caribeño juega un papel fundamental a la hora de proponer futuros alternativos al humanismo patriarcal neoliberal. Centrándose en la poesía especulativa caribeña contemporánea escrita por mujeres, este estudio defiende que los versos de Thaís Espaillat, Yaissa Jiménez, Ann-Margaret Lim, Canisia Lubrin y Jennifer Rahim son un espacio privilegiado desde el que analizar la colonialidad contemporánea e imaginar futuros alternativos para la región. La poesía de estas cinco poetas contemporáneas del Caribe anglófono e hispanohablante no solo desenmascara la colonialidad de poder y de género, sino que apunta hacia las formas de resistencia y resiliencia enraizadas en los saberes y prácticas de la región como vías imprescindibles para la reconstrucción colectiva de futuros decoloniales y feministas.
