ResumoSmith College continues to build on the strength of its well-known collection of 19th- and 20th-century paintings, but recent gifts and purchases have extended the usefulness of the Museum to Smith instructors in other areas of art history: paintings by Joos van Cleve, Abraham Mignon, Reynolds and Bellotto; a drawing by Fragonard after the lost Corsini Poussin, a fine Sienese majolica dish of around 1500; and an important 16th-century German dinanderie candleholder. Five other recent accessions are reproduced here.
