ResumoThe process of animal feeding is fundamental in the production technology of livestock products. Unsatisfactory quality of animal feeding is one of the main reasons for the low level of use of their genetic potential. The relevance of the issue under consideration is due to the need to significantly increase the production of milk and cattle meat. In many regions of the country, there is a tendency to increase the production of these products by increasing the productivity of animals by creating a solid feed base and improving feeding technology. Nevertheless, the growth rate of this indicator remains low. The applied technologies and means of mechanization for the delivery and distribution of feed on cattle farms determine not only energy and labor costs per production unit, but also affect the efficiency of feed use and their losses. The article describes one of the ways to improve the quality of cattle feeding and the efficiency of feed use with the use of self-feeders. The results of experimental and production studies of the proposed model of a universal self-feeder for servicing cattle are presented.
