ResumoThis paper investigates one of the important areas which need to discuss and is very much important to Sri Lanka as a state. There are certain things without those things, it is really difficult to exist in a state in the world. A nation should focus on several areas which really help to promote, improve and develop their interests. In the way of promoting their interests and goals and objectives ‘foreign policy” plays a huge role in there. Nation effort should be there to get maximum benefits through foreign policy. Countries’ desires and interests are based on the foreign policy of that particular country. As a result, Sri Lanka had a foreign policy under many executives. The aim of having a good foreign policy is to promote national interests, national security, ideological goals, and economic development. Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapakshe were two former presidents in Sri Lanka who came to power in 2015 and 2019 respectively. They had their own foreign policy in their time. They had two different foreign policies in their times. Especially, they had separate and different foreign policies from Asian countries.
