ResumoScarring potentially can detract from otherwise excellent aesthetic gains achieved through a variety of surgical procedures of the breasts. Endoscopic techniques can minimize scarring associated with surgery of the breasts while decreasing morbidity rates. Augmentation, mastectomy, biopsy, capsulotomy, capsulectomy, implant inspection, reduction, mastopexy, and various reconstructive procedures are all amenable to minimally invasive techniques in selected patient groups. Current instrumentation and techniques as well as future applications for endoscopic surgical procedures of the breast are described.
