Sustainable Design and Development

Civil construction is one of the activities with the greatest environmental impact among existing anthropogenic activities, being the main responsible for the primary extraction of natural resources. Several initiatives emerged in the 90s in order to create mechanisms for regulating, classifying and encouraging so-called sustainable constructions. However, despite aspects of sustainable buildings analyzing the life cycle of the work and seeking to maximize efficiency in the use and management of energy and material resources, these buildings are not concerned with preserving the original appearance of the environment. This work seeks to instigate the search for sustainable construction in addition to the preservation of the original visual fluidity where the residential construction is inserted. As a result, this work presents the guidelines to be considered even in the architectural design phase for residential projects.
