Resumo

In this article, I utilize a critical media literacy framework to analyze the acclaimed HBO television series, The Leftovers. This analysis can guide teacher educators and future teachers enrolled in teacher preparation university courses to incorporate pop culture texts in their classrooms, while at the same time exploring critical civics and democratic education theories, themes, and practices.
