ResumoThis article seeks to analyze the issue of décadence and nihilism, presenting them as a possibility of transvaluation of values. To reach this probable conclusion, we will present the question of Christianity and Western culture as manifestations of décadence; we will analyze nihilism, its characteristics and conceptual types; we will study passive nihilism and the rise of meaninglessness in human consciousness; we will present the active nihilism and the possibility of the transvaluation of values and finally we will present the insertion of the man in the world of the eternal return.
