The objective of the present work was to describe the artisanal fishing carried out by the artisanal fishermen of the fishing community of Baia do Sol, Mosqueiro Island, State of Pará. Data collection took place through interviews with fishermen associated and not associated with the Z-9 colony of the Baia do Sol community, from April to October 2022, using semi-structured questionnaires to assist in data collection. In the study, 30 artisanal fishermen were interviewed, most of them male, using snowball sampling. The results indicate that the artisanal fishing practiced in Baia do Sol has the gill net as the main fishing gear. Fishing is carried out in boats called rowing boats, made of wood. Fishing areas cover some locations around Mosqueiro Island, extending to the Northeast of Pará. In addition, it was found that the commercialization of fish is carried out, primarily, at the local level.
