Resumo

“Deadpan” is the title of an episode of the American television series Murder, She Wrote, which was aired May I, 1988. Set at the premiere of a young playwright’s first play, the episode concerns two influential theatre critics whose intensely antagonistic relationship has overtaken theatre as the focus of their reviews, which have become mere occasions for personal sniping at each other. The Angela Lansbury character in the show, Mrs. Fletcher, becomes involved in their situation when, along with the two of them, she attends the premiere of the play which is based on one of her novels. As viewers of the series will know, her presence at an event usually signals the imminent murder of someone else in attendance. Sure enough, in this episode, the victim is one of the critics.
