“Pela ditadura”: o empastelamento do Diário Carioca por membros do Clube 3 de Outubro

ResumoThis article analyzes the context and the violent attack on the liberal newspaper Diário Carioca by members of the civil-military organization with a national-authoritarian tendency Clube 3 de Outubro in February 1932. The well-known but not much studied event in historiography is an unfolding of the disputes for reconstitutionalization and for different models of State to be built after the revolution "Revolução de 30”. The aim is to deepen the understanding of the role and influence of the Clube 3 de Outubro in the disputes over the conduct of the new regime among its heterogeneous bases. The main sources were the newspapers Correio da Manhã, Diário Carioca and the archives of the Clube 3 de Outubro.
