ResumoDemand for further development of clean harvesting energy in recent decade's increases rapidly due to environmental degradation after the abundant use of fossil-based fuel. Marine sectors emerge as one of the viable solutions for clean energy as sustainable and renewable energy, which wind resource is a prevalent choice to be harvested. There are higher wind speeds offshore than on land so offshore farms are required to generate more electricity per amount of capacity installed. Offshore wind farms also have less possibility of accidents than those on land, as this type has less impact on people and the landscape. Based on this advantage, harvesting instruments to produce wind-based energy, e.g., the wind turbine is a critical subject which worth to be studied, especially in terms of its applied materials on each structural member. Therefore, this work is directed to characterize possible materials for applications on the turbine, i.e., rotor blade, including metallic-based and advanced materials.
