Resumo

This work aimed to observe the history of spontaneous generation in textbooks from Fleck's lens. The analysis was based on excerpts from the 2017 PNLEM textbooks. Through a discursive textual analysis, it was possible to identify a fragmented scientific bias and without the presence of historical, social and cultural aspects. The gap left by the absence of these elements leads to a manualized, linear and neutral science. It is believed that a more dialogic and rich approach to the various historiographical aspects can make teaching more meaningful and reflective, bringing the possibility that critical thinking is part of the student's education.
