Resumo

Endoscopic mucosal closure is an important part of modern gastroenterology practice. As the diagnostic and therapeutic reach of interventional endoscopy continues to grow, so too will the need for effective mucosal closure devices. Approved in 2020, the Apollo X-Tack through-the-scope (TTS) system is compatible with gastro- and colonoscopes and does not require endoscope withdrawal to deploy its HeliX Tacking system for mucosal closure.1,2 Although several reports have noted the excellent clinical efficacy in closure of large defects after mucosal resection,3,4 only a minority of cases have highlighted use of the X-Tack system in complex tissue apposition cases, and fewer have highlighted the success of the X-tack system after failure of more traditional closure techniques.
