ResumoAbstract Phosphorothioate analogues of DNA and RNA have sulphur in place of oxygen as one of the non-bridging ligands bonded to phosphorus. Differential electroncgativity, bond length, and other factors involving sulphur vs. oxygen lead to unique physicochcmical features for this class of backbone-modified analogues, relative to native DNA and RNA.
