From a legal point of view, we can affirm that the stories of the protagonists of Longo’s novel, Daphnis and Chloe, show the legal situation of the time, adapting the novel to local law. The literary fiction is not an obstacle to recognise that in the juridical field the work shows tints of reality, which proves that this literary genre constitutes a source of knowledge of Greek law.
