In this research we investigate how the elements and traditional tales of Caucasian people are present in the work of the Georgian movie director Sergei Paradjanov through the collage technique in his films. We will present the life trajectory of the film-maker and his cinematic intention of creating a cinema which could honor folk tales and the ethnic identity of his people during the homogenization imposed by the USSR regime. In the three movies that make the Caucasian Trilogy: The Legend of Suram Fortress, The Color of Pomegranates and Ashik Kerib, we perceive a use of images that give other meanings to the narrative elements presented, emphasizing the pomegranate as a symbol of Caucasus.
