Hinojosa Regents Professor Emeritus of curriculum and instruction, anthropology, at the University of Texas at Austin, and visiting professor at the University of Texas-Pan American. He has written many books and articles on minority and equity issues, especially as they relate to language, culture, and learning. He was dean of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Houston. He has recently been elected to the National Academy of Education.
