Resumo

Horácio Costa, in the book José Saramago: o Período Formativo, devoted a chapter to the study of the translations made by the writer and made a list of them.However, for having limited himself to consult the archive of Biblioteca Nacional de Lisboa, he didn't include some books.Our aim is complement this listing, framing these translations in light of their analyses, examining the role that they may have had in their formation.To this end, we present in summary form the list made by Costa, supplementing it with the ones found on the list of Fundação José Saramago and in the Jorge Santos, cited by Ana Paula Ferreira in Tradução e utopia pós-coloniala intervenção invisível de Saramago, from the book "O que transforma o mundo é a necessidade e não a utopia": Estudos sobre utopia e ficção em José Saramago
