ResumoThis chapter covers the use and impact of arithmetic optimizations on simple graphics applications such as affine image transformations and fractal generation. These types of performance optimizations are often needed to improve rendering speed and frame rate. Prior to this, we will cover how to use the Linux framebuffer, which allows for the display of graphics on an attached monitor without the need for the X11 graphical environment. We will also cover an alternative method, the use of OpenCV, to allow for graphics to be rendered over a network connection to a remote host.
