ResumoInternet of Things (IoT) protocols and frameworks provide universal access to powerful computing resources regardless of geographical location or infrastructure limitations. Cloud-based platforms such as Google Colab are highlighted for hosting interactive educational materials and applications. Although Colab offers an interactive environment for various disciplines, there is a need to understand how students interact with computational notebooks. This work introduces an MQTT-based toolkit to measure student engagement during remote exercises. The software framework presented facilitates interactive computational notebooks that use IoT to deliver information and feedback to educators and students in a virtual remote environment. The approach integrates Google Colab, Node-RED, Machine Learning, and MQTT tools, creating an asynchronous interactive learning environment.
