ResumoThis paper is part of a dissertation research and aimed to identify which were the professional and educational paths of the graduates in Professional and Technological Education courses offered by the Federal Institute of Paraná, campus Assis Chateaubriand. The case study was carried out with students graduating between 2011 and 2018 in Electromechanics, Electrotechnics and Informatics technical courses. Structured questionnaires were used to collect the data. The results showed that the students of theIntegrated courses sought Professional Education as a way of preparing for access to higher education. Among the graduates of the Subsequent courses, the main reason given by them to take the technical course was the opportunity to train and/or update knowledge required by the activities of the labor market and most of the graduates work in an area strongly related to the training obtained. It was also possible to identify that most graduates remained in the municipality or in the Western Paraná Mesoregion, highlighting the Campus' contribution to the strengthening of human capital in the region.
