Resumo

The objective of this study is to show how the new IT tools are assisting Operations Research (OP) in Supply Chain Management (SCM). The methodology used to approach the problem is mixed, because it involves the qualitative methodology applied to solve concrete problems and the quantitative methodology in the development of a software. The result of this study was that the ChatGPT Artificial Intelligence Model was able to develop a software in R Language, through the Shiny Library, which applied to a problem analogous to the Backpack Problem was able to maximize profit in a fictitious case. Therefore, it is concluded that the new IT Tool ChatGPT proved to be efficient for the purpose of solving this problem.
