ResumoDorothy Yeboah-Manu has made it her career's mission to develop the expertise in tuberculosis and Buruli ulcer that her home nation of Ghana desperately needed. The youngest of six children, she grew up in the Eastern Region of Ghana and developed an interest in science and technology thanks to her much older brother studying engineering. Today, she is the Director at Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), at the University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana, where she oversees multiple projects including treatment, diagnosis, and research for both tuberculosis and Buruli ulcer that she herself led.
