Resumo

This work aimed to reflect on contemporary art from the urban interventions of the artist Eduardo Srur. For that, the concepts of Pallamin (2000), Krauss (2008), Salles (2009), Dewey (2010), Mosé (2012), among other exponents of the area, were used as a foundation. Methodologically, it was a qualitative research, based on a bibliographic survey about the trajectory of the artist Eduardo Sru, as well as a form answered via audio by the artist himself. By analyzing Eduardo Srur's artistic productions, the study highlighted the relationship between art and the city in a social and cultural perspective of Brazilian contemporary art, since the productions have an environmental and political dimension, in which the artist invites the public to rethink everyday life based on what bothers you. The implication of this study was to highlight that Eduardo Srur's interventions are universal and local at the same time, in which he spreads direct messages with social engagement, based on the visual interferences created in the city's architecture.
