ResumoThe presented research is devoted to the question of the conditions for the effective use of computer games as a resource of memory policy. The series of games “Metro 2033” in combination with its literary source was chosen as the case study. The author comes to the conclusion that a video game can be used as an effective resource for memorial politics even outside the historical genre; however, the positioning of past events in the context of its plot should be built taking into account the specifics of the formation and functioning of social memory and collective identity.
