ResumoWe thank Rodriguez, J. for his interest in our article "Different mutation profiles and clinical characteristics among Hispanic patients with non-small cell lung cancer could explain the "Hispanic paradox"" [ 1 Arrieta O. On the Hispanic paradox in lung cancerLung CancerVol. 190PreviewWe have read with interest Arrieta et al.'s publication [1], reporting on the mutation profiles of Hispanic NSCLC that were consecutively treated at the thoracic oncology unit of the National Cancer Institute, Mexico, between 2007 and 2014. The results indicate that among 1260 patients, 340 had EGFR mutation (27 %). In a previous study, 2012 Arrieta et al. [2] reported the results from years 2007–2010 on 914 patients. Though possible, it is pretty odd that 914 were treated from 2007 to 2010, but in the following 4-year period, the added number of patients was only 346 (for a total of 1260). Full-Text PDF
