ResumoThis work is based on the concept of geomorphological heritage to identify “Geomorphosites” and “Geomorphodiversity Sites” in the municipalities of Farias Brito, located in the Metropolitan Region of Cariri (RMC), and Altaneira, both in the State of Ceará. The research is justified in the search for the recognition of places of geomorphological relevance, with the aim of providing better use of these areas from a geotouristic point of view. This is a pioneering study on the geomorphological heritage of these municipalities and aims to publicize and enhance the geomorphological heritage and geodiversity in these areas. Methodologically, scientific value is attributed to the location considered a geomorphosite and cultural, aesthetic and ecological values to geomorphodiversity sites. As a result, characteristics of the inventoried geomorphosite and other geomorphodiversity sites are presented.
