Individualismo, objetificação e ascensão social em <i>Nos embalos de Ipanema</i>

ResumoThe text discusses how the pornochanchada Nos embalos de Ipanema (1978) by Antonio Calmon dialogues with the problematizations about individualism, narcissism, and objectification in historical and sociopolitical contexts, being divided into four parts. In the first one, this study describes the considerations by Holanda on the Brazilian sociopolitical formation and the importance of individualism in it — along with those of Sennett on the erosion of the public sphere. The next three parts articulate a methodological proposal of interlocution between theory and object, uniting the discussions of the previous part to the analysis of the interpersonal dynamics in the film.
