ResumoIn early 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the out-break of a pandemic caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Faced with this scenario, major media outlets, such as Veja magazine from Grupo Abril, mobilized to deliver information to the public while also striving to survive in the market. The pandemic con-text thus fostered the creation of several covers, which this study aims to analyze to reconstruct the narrative told in 2020 and 2021 about the coronavirus pandemic. Through verbo-visual elements, it is possible to identify a succession of situated events that, amid discursive effects of reality and fiction, narrate the day-to-day of the global health crisis. Therefore, with the theoretical and meth-odological support of Semiolinguistic Discourse Analysis, created by Professor Patrick Charaudeau of Paris XIII University, this study aims to examine the narrative organization mode identified in the sequence of selected Veja covers for this study.
