This chapter provides information about the process of ecological restoration using the restoration triangle. The restoration triangle is a framework to focus attention on selecting appropriate plant species that will consider the biotic (or living) characteristics and environmental conditions of the restoration site. The chapter provides information on selecting species as well as advice and techniques that can improve plants establishment. Seed enhancement treatments are available that may improve seed germination and plant establishment in salt-impacted soils. These treatments include mechanical scarification, seed priming, and seed coating. The success of salt-impacted soil restoration varies and relies upon ongoing management and future land use.
