Resumo

This article was prepared as a final product of the Psychology Course at the Faculdade Venda Nova do Imigrante - FAVINI, for this purpose, a bibliographic and documentary study was carried out on the theme chosen by the student. The objective of the study was to understand the concept of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the possible mediations in socialization, learning and quality of life of individuals with ASD. The deepening of knowledge opens up a series of possibilities for methodologies of interaction, support, cognitive and social development of the person in question, as well as their family members and/or guardians. Rapid diagnosis is of great value for the development of the individual’s potential and social inclusion. The educational practice in people with ASD still needs to go a long way to actually guarantee their inclusion and develop their autonomy.
