Resumo

In this study, an interactive didactic sequence (ITS) is suggested for the concept of function in an Introduction to Functions of Various Variables (IFVV) class of a course at a University located in the Semi-Arid region of Rio Grande do Norte.Based on the students' pre-existing knowledge, the concepts were re-evaluated and synthesized in groups to create a definition to be debated through PowerPoint, which proved to be a teaching resource that facilitated understanding and encouraged students participation.The results obtained indicate that the ITS favors the construction of the role concept created by the students' prior knowledge and their interaction, as well as the understanding of the role definition through the collaboration of the interviewer using the PowerPoint resource in the final stage of the process.The conclusions support the incorporation of ITS as a didactic-methodological approach by educators, as it promotes interactive teaching and learning.
