ResumoAbstract: GJIA sits down with the honorable Dr. Enrico Letta, former Prime Minister of Italy, to talk about his official report "Much More Than a Market" on the future of the single market in Europe, released in April 2024. Dr. Letta addresses the imperative need for an integrated EU market in an economic landscape challenged by dwindling competitiveness, brain drain, and sluggish transition toward green development. He shares insights into practical policy recommendations aimed at strengthening the bloc's economic power. In addition to market integration, Dr. Letta also addresses relevant political issues during the interview, including EU enlargement, solidarity amidst international crises, and strategic autonomy and emphasizes how these factors intertwine with economic integration in contributing to the overall capabilities and resilience of the EU in a changing global landscape different from three decades ago.
