ResumoThe subfamily Taitoinae Medrano, Kury and Mendes, 2021 comprises 11 genera, with Taito Kury and Barros, 2014 being the most diverse among them. The genus Taito currently comprises 16 species, distributed across the Upper Amazon drainage and the eastern Andean slope. In this study, the 17th species is described, discovered in the Department of Huánuco of Peru. This newly identified species shares similarities with Taito galaga Kury and Barros, 2014 in terms of the armature of the anal operculum, sternite 7/8, and the structure of femur IV. Notably, the equuleus of this species is unique within the family Cosmetidae.
