Through the analysis of the treatment of the historical event of the wars in the Vendée and, connected to these, the French Revolution in the literary texts of Euclides da Cunha, Victor Hugo and François-René de Chateaubriand, we hope to explore the depiction of interpretation of the historic process in literary texts. In those texts, these interpretations can be found between extreme ideological positions, which seem to be affirmed and denied by the literary text at the same time, thus creating a vision of history particular to the language of the literary text.
