ResumoThe Pozzuoli Cathedral, located in Naples, is part of a geography of intense seismic and volcanic activity, phenomena that led to the destruction of two bell towers of the religious complex. In addition to studying and exploring the missing structures, this article aims to interpret the new bell tower, firstly, considering guidelines and recommendations for religious buildings. On the other hand, based on the project by Marco Dezzi Bardeschi, reflecting the structure as part of the theoretical frame-work of Pura Conservazione, through the introduction of new signs and materials, is also one of this article objectives. The research, of an exploratory nature, aims, besides the development of a non-existent approach to the missing bell towers, to understand the construction of the new architectural structure as an example of safeguarding values and traditions that, at the same time, establishes, based on contemporary elements and concepts, new compositional dialogues with the pre-existing religious space.
