Resumo

The Chacareros dance “Flor de Sank’ayo” represents agricultural activity and a good harvest. Its characteristics are associated with nature and are expressed through manifestations of joy, which reflect the feeling of harmonious living in the community. In this sense, the objective focuses on analyzing the symbolism of the Chacareros dance “Flor de Sank’ayo” in the Acora district, considering the symbolic aspects of clothing, music and rhythmic movements. In the methodology, descriptive-ethnographic research was used within the qualitative approach. The sample consisted of a total of 25 informants, including dancers and musicians. As a result, the clothing incorporates icons of flora, fauna, Andean worldview, space and time; In addition, it presents astral motifs associated with the phases of the moon and the chacana. As for music, melodies, songs and musical content with a diversity of meanings stand out. In all cases, the dance movements are dynamic and joyful, with choreographic figures related to agriculture and its context.
