In a recent research work, at three Portuguese Archives (Lisbon - Banco de Portugal, Coimbra - Arq. Universidade, Anadia - Arquivo Municipal), we have found in the binding of municipal charters («Forais») some unknown fragments of Festus’ De significatu uerborum ex recensione Pauli, in Caroline script, from IX-X century. Their presentation is the same of the Differentiae uerborum that we have studied in the last volume of Euphrosyne. The problems of transmission are identical and the cultural meaning of these fragments in a Portuguese context must be discussed and reinforced. Different lectiones of the W. Lindsay’s edition of Festus are noted here. A fragment of a manuscript of Iohannes Balbus’ Catholicon, from XIII-XIV century, is also reported.
