ResumoA new tritium facility, recently activated at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, is described. The facility contains a large dry box, associated gas processing system, a facility for handling tritium gas at pressures to approximately 100 MPa, and an effluent treatment system which removes tritium from all effluents prior to their release to the atmosphere. The system and its various components is discussed in detail with special emphasis given to those aspects that significantly reduce personnel exposures and atmospheric releases.
