ResumoField magnetic, gammaspectrometric, natural potential, electroresistívíty, thermometric as well as gravity surveys have been carried out on the Limeira, Indaia and Sucuri kimberlites located in the Monte Carmelo Dístrict, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The maín purpose was to show how an integrated interpretation based on geophysics can improve the current prospecting of kimberlites. Magnetic surveys showed anomalies over 1,000 nT peak to peak; thermometric, gammaspectrometric and electroresistivity data defined the contacts between the kimberlites and the country rocks; gravity data, on the other hand, ponted out the low density of the kimberlites compared with other ultrabasic rocks. The utilization of this methodology led to the discovery of the Anil diatreme near Monte Carmelo, also characterized as another kimberlite.
