ResumoAlthough Christophe Honoré’s fourth film incorporates his signature references to the New Wave and particularly to the musical films of Jacques Demy, Les chansons d’amour also creates a highly innovative place of its own by reconfiguring not only the borders of a number of different film traditions and genres but also by redrawing the boundaries of cinematic Paris. The setting of Honoré’s film in the seldom-filmed dixième arrondissement stands as a metaphor for its unusual cinematic location.
