The six women represented in this bibliography-Elaine de Kooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Grace Hartigan, Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, and Ethel Schwabacher-were in the forefront of the American Art movement as the center of the art world shifted from Paris to New York.
