Structural Response to Dynamic Loads

The analysis presented in this article is based on a detailed study of a wood formwork fire accident during bridge construction. Two recent and similar fires in bridge formwork are also described. The fire characteristics, the inspection procedures, the simulation studies and the repair methods are described. The intent is to describe and characterize the typical damage, and to define an evaluation methodology for this type of situation.
