ResumoAn unsteady single spray of n-tridecane which was miscible with a small quantity of exciplexforming dopants impinged on a flat wall at high temperature and at a normal angle to the wall in a quiescent atmosphere in the experiment presented here. It was possible to generate fluorescent emissions from the vapor and liquid phases of this spray, when a sheet of laser light from a Nd : YAG laser was passed through the cross section of this spray containing its central axis. Clear 2-D images of the vapor and liquid phases in the spray were acquired using this method at the same time. The vapor concentration was obtained quantitatively using Lambert-Beer's law from measured fluorescence intensity in the vapor phase. Furthermore, the authors analyzed the characteristics of the fluorescence which is important when use the fluorescence method. The vapor concentration was corrected considering the effect of temperature quenching.
