Risk Management in Financial Firms

Resumo

Organizations can experience better decision-making as a result of embracing risk management principles and applying them to business processes. This article highlights two companies, Austrian Airlines Group and Transport for London, as examples of transportation companies that have incorporated risk management into their operations. Austrian Airlines has implemented a risk management system that considers all risks and opportunities and their potential impact on finances into consideration. Transport for London has put into place multi-level risk management processes that capture operational, directorate and executive risks. In both cases, when risks are identified, they are actively managed to ensure that the outcomes of the organization are maximized.
