Resumo

To broaden the range of ground-to-vehicle transmission processes that can be used with guided transport systems, a research program was launched to investigate the possibility of high speed microwave links in metro tunnels. This program was carried out in the framework of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Regional Group for Transport Research (GRRT) in France, in cooperation with the Radio-Propagation and Electronics Laboratory of the Lille-Flandres-Artois University of Sciences and Techniques. It includes: a study by simulation of microwave propagation conditions in tunnels and in situ test programs. Findings from experiments made in roads and metro tunnels, in comparison with simulation data are given.
