ResumoFecundity of Pachycheles haigae Rodrigues da Costa, 1960 (Crustacea, Anomura, Porcellanidae) in Ubatuba (SP), Brazil A population of Pachycheles haigae was sampled in July (N=38), September (N=46) and November/1990 (N=73) in the intertidal rocky coast of Praia Grande in Ubatuba, SP, to estimate its potential and seasonal fecundity. A regression analysis for number of eggs (NO) versus carapace length (CC) relationship was applied to ovigerous females in each month and to the total population (N=157). The best fit equation to represent each group of data was the power function. The number of eggs of this species ranged from 2 to 775 (average of 157 eggs) and Recebido em 24 de setembro de 1993 Aceito em 5 de abril de 1995 Distribuido em I de novembro de 1995 Correspondencia para: M. The data showed a sazonality in the P. haigae fecundity indicating a possible negative influence of warmes water temperatures. The comparative fecundity analysis of this species with others of the same family was analyzed to verify inter-specific variations in this taxonomic category.
